What is a new coronavirus?
该新型冠状病毒此前未在人类身上发现的冠状病毒新毒株。
冠状病毒是一个庞大的病毒家族，会引起普通感冒甚至是更为严重的疾病，例如中东呼吸综合征（MERS-CoV）和严重急性呼吸综合征（SARS-CoV）。
It is a new strain of coronavirus that has not yet been previously identified in humans.
Coronavirus (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).
2. 病毒如何传播？
How does the virus transmit?
病毒主要通过飞沫传播、接触传播。目前受传染患者以男性为主，40-60岁中老年发病人数较多。
The virus is mainly transmitted through droplets and contact. At present, most of the infected patients are males, and there are more middle-aged and elderly people aged 40 and 60 years old.
3. “新型冠状病毒”患者会有什么症状?
What are the symptoms?
患者会出现发热、乏力、咳嗽等症状，部分患者发病症状轻微，可无发热。约半数患者在一周后出现呼吸困难，严重者快速进展为急性呼吸窘迫综合征、脓毒症休克、难以纠正的代谢性酸中毒和出现凝血功能障碍。
The main symptoms are fever, fatigue and cough. The onset symptoms of some patients are mild with no fever. About half of the patients get breathing difficulties after 1 week. In more severe cases, infection can cause acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock, refractory metabolic acidosis and coagulation dysfunction.

If you have stayed in Wuhan (or Hubei Province) or you have contacted with people who came back from Wuhan (or Hubei Province) and have respiratory symptoms such as fever and cough, you are required to continue to observe your personal health for 14 days from the last day you leave Wuhan（or Hubei Province）or the last day of contact with suspected patients.

1. 近期避免前往武汉等疫情严重地区。
Avoid going to epidemic areas, especially Wuhan, Hubei province.
2. 如果有发热等不适症状需要立即到医院查看。
If you got a fever or had other symptoms, you must go to see the doctor immediately.
3. 出入公共场合请佩戴口罩。戴口罩时请让口罩鼻夹加紧鼻翼，把口罩拉至下巴部位。
When you go to public areas, wearing a mask is an effective way to protect yourselves. Make sure to wear it properly by tightening up the nose clip and pulling the bottom of it over your chin. A mask should be discarded after use and under no circumstances should it be used for longer than four hours.
4. 室内勤通风，勤洗手。
Keep ventilation and wash your hands frequently.
5. 咳嗽或打喷嚏时用纸巾或胳膊捂住口鼻。
When you are coughing or sneezing, please cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, or cough or sneeze into your sleeve.
6. 烹调时将肉蛋彻底煮熟。
Eat thoroughly cooked meat and eggs.
7. 避免与有流感或感冒症状的患者密切接触
Avoid close contact with people who have flu or cold-like symptoms.
8. 避免近距离接触野生动物或活牲畜。
Avoid close contact with wild animals or farmed livestock without any protection.
