On the morning of May 25, Consul General of the Consulate General of Hungary in Guangzhou Péter Várfi and his delegation visited GDUFS. Secretary of CPC GDUFS Committee, President of GDUFS Shi Youqi met the guests at the VIP Reception Hall, Administration Building, Baiyun Mountain Campus, GDUFS. The two sides exchanged views on discipline development, personnel training and cultural exchanges.

Shi Youqi welcomed the delegation and introduced the teaching, characteristics and the establishment of Hungarian language specialization of GDUFS. He pointed out that based on the profound friendship between China and Hungary and the deepening cooperation between the two countries in economy, trade, education and so on, the demand for personnel who master the Hungarian language will greatly increase. GDUFS were granted to established Hungarian language specialization in 2023, aiming to cultivate innovative bilingual personnel who master both Hungarian and English. GDUFS values the cooperation with Hungarian universities and has signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Pécs. GDUFS hopes that the Consul General's visit will significantly propel the exchanges between GDUFS and Hungarian universities in various fields and expand their scope of cooperation.

Péter Várfi expressed his gratitude for the welcome of GDUFS and high expectations for the Hungarian language specialization of GDUFS. He pointed out that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and China, the ties between the two countries have become increasingly close. He hopes to continue to deepen the cooperation and exchanges with GDUFS in the future, jointly support the development of the Hungarian language specialization, promote the high-quality development of Sino-Hungarian educational cooperation and achieve more practical results.

After the meeting, the Consul General and his delegation visited the University history museum and held discussions with the Faculty of European Language and Cultures and Hungarian language teachers of GDUFS.
