From December 28 to 30, 2021, Prof. Sui Guangjun, Chairman of the University Board of GDUFS, led a delegation to visit several partner universities and institutions in Macao to discuss and exchange views on a number of issues related to educational cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and to vigorously promote inter-university cooperation and innovation of talent cultivation mechanism in the Greater Bay Area.

On December 28, Prof. Sui Guangjun and his delegation first visited the Macao Foundation and exchanged views with Dr. Wu Zhiliang, Chairman of its Executive Committee. Both sides expressed a will to continue to steadily promote the existing cooperation programs and further facilitate credit certification, exchanging visits and academic cooperation among students from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

Later, the delegation visited the University of Macau, where they toured the University Pavilion under the guidance of Prof. Song Yong Hua, Rector of the University of Macau, and met Prof. Wang Qingjie, Associate Dean of Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and Prof. Chen Zhong, Associate Dean of the UM Confucius Institute. The two universities had a discussion on Confucius Institute Hosting Universities Alliance in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, which was established in November this year, as well as the Alliance for Library Resources in Portuguese, which was established in September. Also, they further refined the cooperation model for specific programs such as 10,000 Talents Initiative and discussed the cooperation plans for the Greater Bay Area Campus Project.

Afterwards, the delegation visited Macao Development Strategy Research Centre, where they met with Mr. Chen Zhifeng, Vice President and Secretary General, and other representatives of MDSRC. The two sides expressed the intention of cooperation on research and discussion over cultural and economic development in the Greater Bay Area.

On December 29, the delegation of GDUFS paid a visit to Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) to discuss the specific development plans for the Greater Bay Area Portuguese Education Alliance project, exchanged views on the implementation of the Greater Bay Area Campus Project and discussed various exchange programs such as mutual visits of teachers and students, and short-term training, and exchange opinions on the application and implementation details of the GDUFS-MPI cooperation program. The two sides agreed that they would actively carry out in-depth and multi-field cooperation between the two universities to form a synergistic innovation mechanism with complementary advantages and mutual benefits to serve the Greater Bay Area national development scheme.

On December 30, GDUFS and Macao Management Institute (MMI) discussed the specialties and future cooperation areas, laying a foundation for future exchanges and cooperation. The two sides also exchanged views on the Greater Bay Area Campus Project and the joint student training project.

During the visit to Macao, the delegation also visited GDUFS alumni in Macao and had a discussion with the representatives of GDUFS Zhuhai-Macao Alumni Association, discussing future cooperation between GDUFS and more Macao universities, enterprises and research institutions.

Besides Sui, the delegation included. Chen Ping, Director of Academic Research Division, Ke Xiaohua, Director of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, Shen Minghao, Deputy Director of the United Front Work Department and Dean of the Institute of Studies for the Greater Bay Area (Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao), and Li Qing, Secretary General of Guangdong Research Institute for International Studies.
