On May 12, a delegation of European diplomats from Albania, North Macedonia, Switzerland and Hungary, accompanied by Director of the International Cooperation Department of China Education Association for International Exchange Liu Yibo and Deputy Director of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province Zhou Guoping, visited GDUFS. Vice President of GDUFS Jiao Fangtai met the guests at the VIP Reception Hall, Administration Building, Baiyun Mountain Campus, GDUFS.
Jiao Fangtai introduced GDUFS to the delegation, including its history, operations, cooperation and exchanges with European universities. He pointed out that as a university with distinct international characteristics, GDUFS has maintained cooperative ties with 488 universities and academic and cultural institutions in 60 countries and regions. At present, GDUFS offers the most foreign language programs (totally 31) in South China, which enables it to nurture highly qualified, patriotic, global-minded, versatile and responsible talents.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the history museum, simultaneous interpreting lab and library of GDUFS. In the history museum, the docent introduced the history, international characteristics, social services and outstanding teachers and students of GDUFS. Then the delegation enjoyed the well-designed performances made by student associations, including musical instrument performance, dance, martial arts and multilingual chorus. The performances fully demonstrated the enthusiasm and spirit of GDUFS’s young students, immersed the guests in the Chinese culture and brought the cultural exchanges between China and Europe to a new level.

Finally, the delegation visited the foreign language stack room and the boutique room of the library. During the visit, the teacher Cai Chunliu introduced the collections and equipment to the delegation. Director Zhou Peng and Deputy Director Lu Lu of the International Office accompanied the delegation during the whole trip.
