On the morning of June 30th, Ben Perkasa Drajat, Consul General of Indonesia in Guangzhou, visited GDUFS. Shi Youqi, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of GDUFS, met the guests at the VIP Reception Hall of the Administration Building of the North Campus. The two sides exchanged views on cultivating Indonesian language talents and educational cooperation.

Shi Youqi welcomed the delegation and introduced various information about GDUFS to them. He pointed out that GDUFS is an important base for international talent cultivation, foreign languages and cultures, international trade, and international strategic studies in South China. GDUFS insists on open-minded education and has achieved remarkable results. GDUFS has always attached great importance to the cooperation with Indonesian higher education institutions, and has established cooperative relations with 12 universities, including Yogyakarta National University. GDUFS set up the Indonesian major in 1970, which was approved as a national first-class undergraduate program in 2020. The Center for Indonesian Studies of GDUFS actively holds various academic exchange activities and strives to build a high-end think tank to serve enterprises and the government. He expected stronger ties between the two sides, cooperative relations with more Indonesian institutions and more breakthroughs in student exchanges, faculty visits and cooperative research in the future, thus further promoting cultural, economic and trade exchanges between the two countries.
Ben Perkasa Drajat said that the friendly relations between Indonesia and China continue to flourish and their cooperation in economy, culture, science and technology continues to strengthen. A large number of outstanding graduates in Indonesian language major cultivated by GDUFS continuously contribute to bridging the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. He hoped that the two sides would continue to deepen their friendship, expand exchangeable fields and write a new chapter of cooperation.
